MentalHealthLiteracy.org is non profit organization that creates educational, training, and clinical care materials and programs designed for use in schools and care settings to promote mental health literacy, clinical care capacity, self-care and psychoeducation, and evaluation of existing programs and interventions.
Mental health information (products and training programs) are designed to address the needs of youth ages 12 to 25 years, families, educators, health providers, policy makers and others.
School mental health literacy
The mental health literacy interventions include:
- The Mental Health & High School Curriculum Guide, which can be downloaded free of charge
- “Go To” training designed to enhance identification, triage, referral and school based support of young people at high risk for a mental disorder.
Young Adults
The campus mental health literacy resource “Transitions” provides first-year (college freshmen) students with information on topics including time management, relationships, sexual activity, mental illness, suicide and addictions. The guide also includes mental health self-help information and recommendations where students can go to get help on their campus.

If you are a friend, family member, educator, health professional, etc. of someone with mental illness, this section points you to educational resources on mental illness and offers guidance on how to help.
Toolbox
The Toolbox section of the website offers resources, reports, and publications free of charge. Most content is available in a number of different languages.
