All About Young Children [web resource]
Find out about what skills help children learn, how they learn language, how they learn about feelings and relationships, how they learn about numbers, and how they become skillful at moving their bodies on All About Young Children, a resource for parents and caregivers provided by the California Department of Education.
As a parent, you are your child’s first teacher. You have experienced how fascinating and how puzzling your young child can sometimes be. All About Young Children invites parents to explore the information that can help them understand your child’s learning and discover new ways to support your growing child.

All About Young Children provides information on each stage of your child’s development, from birth to age 5. Explore the section that corresponds to your child’s age to learn about:
Social-emotional development — How are children learning about feelings and relationships?

Number sense — What are young children learning about numbers?
Physical development — How are children becoming skillful at moving their bodies?
