Human Rights Campaign [web resource]

human rights campaignHuman Rights Campaign (HRC) advocates for LGBTQ equality and educates the public about LGBTQ issues. Being supported at home, in school and in the community is important for all children and youth – especially lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning/queer (LGBTQ) youth. From creating an inclusive learning environment for students – whether a student is in the process of transitioning or she has two moms – to understanding the challenges and resiliency of LGBTQ youth, HRC provides a wealth of resources for supporting LGBTQ youth.

Begin with these resources for supporting LGBTQ youth at home, in school, and in the community:

“I Am Jazz” Reading

Join HRC and host an “I Am Jazz” School and Community Reading and show our nation’s trans youth that they are seen, supported and loved.

Welcoming Schools

A professional development program providing training and resources to elementary school educators to welcome diverse families, create LGBTQ and gender inclusive schools, prevent bias-based bullying, and support transgender and non-binary students.

Research

A new HRC survey of more than 50,000 young people revealed a troubling post-election spike in bullying and harassment.

Transgender Children & Youth

Resources children, families and other youth-serving professionals need to support one another in their journeys.
